Multi-Peptide Vial Blending for Research
Vial blending is the practice of reconstituting two or more lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptide powders together in a single vial with bacteriostatic water. This is commonly done in research settings for compound combinations like BPC-157 + TB-500 or multi-peptide stacks where compounds are known to be chemically compatible.
How Multi-Peptide Calculations Work
When multiple peptides share the same reconstitution volume, the ratio of their delivered quantities in any given syringe draw is fixed by the ratio of their masses in the vial. For example, blending 5 mg of Peptide A and 10 mg of Peptide B means every draw delivers exactly twice as much Peptide B as Peptide A by mass.
This calculator lets you designate a reference peptide— the compound whose quantity you want to control precisely. You enter your target quantity in micrograms (mcg) for that reference, and the calculator determines the syringe draw (in units) needed to deliver it. All other peptide amounts for that same draw are then calculated automatically based on their mass ratios.
Best Practices for Combined Reconstitution
- Verify Compatibility: Not all peptides are stable when combined. Review published literature and manufacturer notes before blending compounds in the same vial.
- Sanitize: Always sanitize rubber stoppers with alcohol swabs before inserting needles.
- Gentle Mixing: Lyophilized peptides are delicate molecules. Gently swirl the vial to dissolve — never shake, as vigorous agitation can denature the compounds.
- Inspect Clarity: A properly reconstituted solution should be completely clear. Cloudiness, particulates, or discoloration indicate potential precipitation or incompatibility.
- Storage: Store reconstituted multi-peptide vials refrigerated (2–8 °C) and use within the recommended stability window for the least stable compound in the blend.
